As a life long Southsider, I grew up attending Columbia Heights and Collier Elementary, Southcross Junior High and Harlandale High School. I continued my education at San Antonio College, Prairie View University and Southwest Texas State University.
I am blessed to be married to Rebecca Mireles Tejeda and have two sons, Ruben James and Gabriel Jesse. Our family are parishioners of Mission San Jose.
I began my law enforcement career as a State Certified Peace Officer in 1977 as a Bexar County Deputy Sheriff.
Throughout my 42 years of tenure in law enforcement, including 15 years with the Sheriff's Office, I gained the experience and training that has prepared me for serving in the office of Constable.
I was elected Bexar County Constable in 1992. I brought the experience I gained as a Warrant Officer to modernize the office of the Constable. Being a police instructor with experience in the field has helped me lead the high quality officers of Precinct 1.
I have worked hard to serve the Bexar County Constable's Department with integrity and distinction. Below are some examples of recognition I have received for during my career for service and dedication to law enforcement and public office.
As a lifelong resident of Bexar County, I am deeply committed to serve our community.
