As your Constable, I'm responsible for Precinct 1 which includes eleven public school districts and all residents spanning from the southern part to the northwestern region of Bexar County. The primary duties of my office is to deliver and execute civil processes which include, but not limited to:
Other statutory duties of my office are to enforce all local, state and federal laws. As your Constable, I am committed to improving the quality of life for all residents, employees, and visitors of Precinct 1. As your Constable, I'll continue to strive towards my mission of making Precinct 1 a safe and functioning community.
As your Constable, I am committed to combatting gang activity and increasing awareness of "bullying" in schools.
Our office has implemented the Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) program in Precinct 1. This program was first established under the Department of Justice.
We currently deliver the G.R.E.A.T. Program elementary curriculum to fourth and fifth grade students in Precinct 1.
My philosophy of community policing begins by making ourselves approachable and accessible to the citizens of our community.
Our office utilizes the Bike Patrol for traffic control as well as escorting special events such as parades and festivals.
With my office, community policing often means volunteering.
Our highly regarded unit of approximately 30 Support personnel who hold commissions as law enforcement officers often support community groups by volunteering their services and keeping the peace for no charge.
Just this year we volunteered 3,878 hours saving local groups and nonprofits $135,730 in security costs.
To provide a safe, fun Halloween for the families of Precinct 1 our office hosts a candy giveaway in collaboration with South Park Mall since 1996.
For 23 years, my office has partnered with area businesses to host an end-of-school-year pizza party for student safety patrols throughout Precinct 1.
